Rover Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist congregation founded in 1840.

We are located in the Rover community of northern Bedford County, Tennessee.

Our Beliefs

We joyfully affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, the statement of faith adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention.

Core Beliefs

We believe:

  • Scripture – The Bible is God’s inspired and authoritative Word, without error, and the supreme standard for faith and life.
  • God – There is one living and true God, revealed in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • Jesus Christ – Fully God and fully man, He lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose again on the third day, and is the only way of salvation.
  • Salvation – Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
  • The Church – A local congregation of baptized believers, united in covenant, observing the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and committed to Christ’s mission.
  • Christian Living – Followers of Jesus are called to love God and neighbor, grow in holiness, and live as witnesses to the gospel.
  • Last Things – Jesus will return personally and visibly. God will bring all things to their rightful end, with eternal life for believers and eternal separation from God for the lost.
